Did you know globally there are estimated to be 200 to 400 billion birds coming from 18,000 bird species?

That’s right, so globally birds outnumber humans by 25 or 50 to 1, and even more so the 525 million dogs (Dr. Stanley Coren) and the 600 million cats (Ecological Global Network). The United States has an estimated 10 billion birds in the spring that increase to 15 billion in the fall after the chicks have hatched, according to a 2013 Arbotopia article.

FYI: Birds on the Brink Sanctuary and Feathered Friends Forever Rescue in Harlem, Georgia is home to 1,143 birds.
