Indian Ringneck Parakeet

Freddie is a yellow Indian Ringneck parakeet. He came to us from New York, where he lived in a condominium with people who could no longer keep him. He screamed a little too loud which is a potential problem with parakeets.

He’s been with us 17 years now and lives outside in the 100-foot flight we built. He loves to talk, will tell you he’s a pretty bird, give you kisses, but if you stick your finger in there, he’ll bite your finger, then step up on it like nothing happened. His way of showing affection perhaps.

The typical Indian Ringneck is green, but Freddie is yellow and his best friend here, another Indian Ringneck, is blue! So we affectionately call them half-breeds, as neither one is green!
