For Educators & Teachers

Want to Visit Birds on the Brink Sanctuary (BOTB)?

General Visiting Hours are – Saturdays from 11:00 am until 3:00 pm.

School Field Trips are available upon request. Birds on the Brink provides diverse educational experiences for grades K to 12.

Our School Field Trips are led by two of our BOTB staff members, Dr. Maxine Rofrano and Mr. John Rofrano, and our Ambassador birds, Fiona a female Eclectus and Mango a female Umbrella Cockatoo.

Our educational goal is to offer an immersive, multi-sensory experience that excites the student’s curiosity about our birds and all the living things that they encounter. BOTB empowers children to become environmental responsible stewards. Through individual discovery, exploration and experience, students come away with not only a greater awareness of those species on the endangered or threatened list, but also learn of their magnificence and possible future.

Science Enrichment Education Programs

Birds on the Brink Sanctuary (BOTB) is a forever home for birds and other living beings on the endangered or threatened list. Our facility and educational programs support the Georgia Standards of Excellence in the areas of Science. We offer guided field trips for school groups, homeschoolers, and camps with diverse offerings for grades K through 12. We are confident that if we can “Excite a Child’s Curiosity” to discover, imagine, explore, and express their experience, we would have helped awaken their potential.
