My Journey in the Wild Continues
“The next thing I saw on my walkabout was a rabbit. She was very puzzled by me, as I’m a lot larger than the turtles she’d already seen. So it took a while for her to warm up to me. She said her name was Bunny, which she thought was silly. She then told her other rabbit friends to join us. They liked eating a lot of the same things I did, so we all hung out together for about a week.
But they took off fast one day when we heard this horrible noise, some loud squawking, like a rusty wheel or something. Around the corner of a bush and some trees came a whole herd of wild turkeys! Man, they make a lot of noise. Good thing I wasn’t asleep.
They weren’t the friendliest things I met, we checked each other out for a while but they then went on their noisy way.
At this point I was beginning to get lonely for Ron and Larry and everyone else at Birds on the Brink Sanctuary, but my roaming wasn’t over, as there were several more wild animals I needed to connect with. And I’m glad I did. A raccoon and a quail! Come to my next installment to hear all about them.”
